Erik ten Hag wants to keep Scott McTominay in his squad for next season after Manchester United rejected early bids for the midfielder during the transfer window.

West Ham failed with a £30m move for McTominay a year ago, when United were open to selling the academy graduate but slapped a £40m asking price on him.

The 27-year-old has since produced his best season for the club, scoring 10 goals and starting in the FA Cup win against Manchester City.

That has led to renewed interest in McTominay this summer and it is understood bids have already been turned down for him, but he has just a year left on his existing contract, although United have the option to extend it by a year.
