But, like many other patients grappling with an NHS system under unprecedented strain, he has struggled since his return to the UK to get a GP appointment for further investigations, despite making hundreds of calls to his registered practice.

Adam, who is now suffering with headaches, says his next step will be a trip to A&E. READ MORE: Latest coronavirus infection rates for Greater Manchester Meanwhile, his GP practice has apologised and said they are dealing with up to 400 calls a day from patients, as well as rising staff absence.
