Man seriously hurt in horror stabbing in Manchester street
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA man has been stabbed in south Manchester in a serious attack. Police descended on Rutherford Avenue, in Rusholme, just before 9pm on Saturday evening to reports of a serious stabbing.
A man was given life-saving treatment at the scene, police say, and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital. A GMP spokesman said: "Officers were called to Rutherford Avenue in Rusholme, Manchester, at about 8:50pm yesterday (8 April) to reports a man had been seriously assaulted. He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable. Detectives are currently working on a number of lines of enquiry." Inspector Richard Flanagan, of GMP's City of Manchester district, said: "There is a scene in place while officers carry out an investigation into the incident. "We believe this to be an isolated and random incident that has resulted from a road traffic incident when a number of offenders have left a vehicle to attack the victim. "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or who has any information - they should contact police quoting log 3350-08/04/2023."
