Man charged with drink driving after being stopped in early hours of the morning

Bolton man will appear in court tomorrow after charged with drink driving. Peter Venables, of Winchester Way, Breightmet, was stopped by police at around 1.30am yesterday morning (Saturday January 2).

The 31-year-old was taken to custody, where he allegedly provided a reading of 69 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath - the legal limit is 35.

According to officers, Venables had previously provided a breathalyser reading which was more than double the legal limit, when he was tested at the roadside.Venables was charged with driving with alcohol over the prescribed limit and has been remanded in police custody.
