Man charged after eight months after woman killed in Scots horror crash

A man has been charged eight months after a fatal crash in the Borders that killed one woman and left three others injured.

Yvonne Nicol, 64, passed away following the three-vehicle accident on the A7, near the Ashkirk junction, at around 3.45pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Yvonne, from Hawick, was the driver of a Vauxhall Astra. She was rushed to Borders General Hospital where she later died. A 65-year-old male passenger in the same car suffered serious injuries.While the 71-year-old female driver of a Nissan Juke was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment to serious injuries.Police confirmed today that a 30-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the crash.
