A man has been left with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car on a busy Warrington road. Police were called out to Chester Road, at the junction with Slutchers Lane, at around 1.50am this morning (October 2).
It followed reports of a collision between a grey Volvo XC60 and a pedestrian. Cheshire Police says the pedestrian, a 27-year-old local man, was rushed to Aintree Hospital for treatment.
His injuries have been described as serious and life-threatening. The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man from Runcorn, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. A spokesperson for the force added: "Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have captured dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward." Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Cheshire Police on the force's website, quoting IML 1379365, or call 101.
