Lennon Miller reveals Rangers clash at Hampden has fuelled desire to fulfil ambition

Lennon Miller relished his moment wearing claret and amber in the Hampden spotlight.And the Motherwell starlet hopes it won’t be long before he’s back at the national stadium in the dark blue of Scotland.

The 17-year-old wonderkid won his first Under-21 cap against Austria during the summer but he’s also dreaming of a place in Steve Clarke’s top team.He said: “Obviously I’d love to represent my country anywhere, never mind here at Hampden but that comes afterwards.

Now my focus is on Motherwell. Is the national team a target for the long term? Yeah, it’s obviously a big goal. I played for the 21s during the summer, it’s something I want to do, I want to represent my country and hopefully I can do that.”The Fir Park youngster has been attracting interest from both Old Firm clubs as well as Premier League bosses.

But he insists his only focus is developing under Steelemen gaffer Stuart Kettlewell.He said: “Last year was my breakthrough year, I was 16 breaking into the first team.
