Lanarkshire businesses come together to carry out essential repairs at Wishaw charity shop

A host of Lanarkshire businesses came together to support St Andrew’s Hospice by carrying out essential repairs in the charity’s Wishaw shop.The joists throughout the shop had wet rot, as did the wall plate and all of the flooring needed to be replaced.Mears, Richardson & Starling and McGarry Flooring worked together to get the shop back to its best; renewing all of the joists, the wall plate and floorboards.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

With the floor being completely renewed and the new carpet down, it makes it safe for our volunteers and has allowed us to make better use of the back shop by reconfiguring the layout.”The hospice’s deputy head of fundraising Louise O’Donnell told Lanarkshire Live what the kind gesture means to the charity which provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care and support for the people of Lanarkshire.She said: “The outstanding help and support that these businesses have given us means so much to the hospice.“It really was a lifesaver for the Wishaw shop.
