Lanarkshire baker wins prestigious award for running business during mental health battle

A Hamilton resident has won a prestigious Prince’s Trust award after battling her depression, anxiety, and OCD to starting her own baking business.Sarah Garvin, 29, has been named the winner of the RBS Enterprise Award at The Prince’s Trust and TK Maxx & Homesense Awards, which recognise young people who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life and had a positive impact on their local community.After being diagnosed with depression, anxiety and OCD in her teens, Sarah overcame these challenges to start her own successful baking business, Cake ‘n’ Bake.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
