Kym Marsh emotionally shares plans for son's ashes after father's death

Kym Marsh was tearful during her first TV appearance since her father's death as she spoke about plans to bury her son's ashes alongside him.

The former Coronation Street star was heartbroken last month when she and her family announced the death of David Marsh. David, known as Dave, made multiple appearances with his daughter and doting wife Pauline on BBC show Morning Live, on which Kym is one of the co-hosts, after he wanted to make others aware of the symptoms and to seek medical help following his prostate cancer diagnosis in 2021.

By November 2022, Kym, 47, said they were living "day by day" as her father’s cancer had spread into his bones. Kym and her family then confirmed on January 12 confirming Dave's death, aged 78, before later laying him to rest in a private funeral. Following her heartbreaking loss, Kym took a break from her work commitments but made a return to Morning Live on Thursday (February 22) to discuss the news that families in England who've experienced the loss of a baby before 24 weeks of pregnancy will now be able to apply for a certificate to formally recognise their child existed, like Kym who suffered the tragic loss of her own son, Archie.
