Kyle Lafferty is backing Steven Davis to force himself into the race to become Rangers boss full time.But the former Ibrox striker also reckons his old Kilmarnock gaffer Derek McInnes should be seriously considered to replace Michael Beale.

Davis is preparing to take charge of the Light Blues for the first time since being drafted in to act as caretaker in the wake of Beale’s sacking.And Lafferty says a positive result in the Europa League clash against Aris Limassol could be the springboard he needs to convince Ibrox chairman John Bennett his temporary role as stand in manager should be made positive.
But if the Ibrox chiefs are looking for a more experienced campaigner to get the team back on track, Lafferty can think of no one better than McInnes.
