‘Kung Fu Panda 2’ Director Jennifer Yuh Nelson Signs With Brillstein Entertainment Partners
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Brillstein Entertainment Partners has signed Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jennifer Yuh Nelson. Nelson directed DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3, and she served as Head of Story on the original Kung Fu Panda.
The trilogy has earned more than $2 Billion worldwide. She is the first woman to solely direct an animated feature from a major Hollywood studio, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film for Kung Fu Panda 2.
Nelson made her live-action directing debut in 2018 with the YA thriller The Darkest Minds for Fox which 21 Laps produced. She recently directed episodes and is the Supervising Director of Netflix’s multi-Emmy winning animated anthology series Love, Death + Robotys, which is executive produced by Tim Miller & David Fincher, which is going into its 4th Season.
