Kolo Toure is reportedly set to become the new manager of English Championship side Wigan Athletic - with the former Celtic icon having learned from Brendan Rodgers whilst on the books at Parkhead.

Toure, who joined the Hoops back in 2016 after playing under Rodgers in his superb stint at Liverpool, began his coaching courses whilst in Glasgow alongside making 17 appearances for the Hoops, in which he won a Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup title.

Retiring from the end of the 2016/17 season, Toure took on a coaching role at Lennoxtown in a bid to further his career. Becoming a popular figure in one of Celtic's most dominant eras in their history, fans were understandably gutted when Toure's spell in Glasgow came to an end when the Manchester City and Arsenal legend followed the Northern Irishman to Leicester City in 2019.

However, it appears that his rewards have paid off with The Sun reporting that Wigan are set to appoint Toure as their new boss in the coming days - despite making a move for brother Yaya over the past week.
