Kilmarnock Odeon cinema and Costa close suddenly due to 'unforeseen issues'

Ayrshire's biggest cinema has closed suddenly.The Odeon in Kilmarnock is currently out of action due to an unknown reason.A sign on one of the doors states that the eight-screen facility has been shut down due to "unforeseen facilities issues".While cinema bosses say the Queen's Drive filmhouse will reopen as soon as possible, there has been no date or time given for the door to reopen again.Punters noticed that screenings at the multiplex were wiped out yesterday evening and have been axed for all of today as well but bookings can still be made for tomorrow.A statement outside the cinema reads: "Due to unforeseen facilities issues, Odeon and Costa are currently closed."We are working towards fixing the problem and hope to reopen again as soon as possible."We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this might cause."The closure comes less than 12 months after the Kilmarnock cinema was shut down for days after a heating problem was found last December.The latest shut down will come as a huge blow to cinema bosses who have been packing out theatres with the release of the Taylor Swift Eras tour film.Ayrshire Swifties are understood to have been flocking to theatres for back-to-back showings of the musician's popular tour with the flick generating $97m in the US on its opening weekend.Odeon has been contacted for comment.
