Keanu Reeves had one request for John Wick: Chapter 4, and unfortunately for him, it wasn’t granted.
According to new reports, it was revealed that the 58-year-old actor actually wanted to be killed off from the film franchise in the most recent movie. Keep reading to find out why Keanu’s request was kind of denied… In an interview with Collider, producer Basil Iwanyk revealed that Keanu was really wanting to be killed off in the fourth movie. “After the second, third, and fourth movie, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally,” he shared with the outlet. “By the end, he’s always like, ‘I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him.
The guy is just a shell of himself because he just goes off and goes for it. He was like, ‘I wanna be definitively killed at the end of this movie.’” He added, “We were like, ‘You know, we’ll leave a 10% little opening.” If you saw the movie, you know that it’s presumed that John does die after the final scene of Winston (Ian McShane) and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) visiting his gravestone – but nothing was ever said about if it was a decoy or not.
John Wick: Chapter 4 made a huge amount of money at the box office, helping the franchise as a whole cross over the $1 Billion mark.
