Virginia singer-songwriter Kate Bollinger is on a hot streak. After two self-released EPs of dreamy, soul-infused indie-pop miniatures — I Don't Wanna Lose and A word becomes sound in 2019 and 2020 respectively — she hit the road in 2021, supporting the likes of Jeff Tweedy, Faye Webster, and Real Estate on tour.

She also received a surprise writing credit last summer on Donda's title track, which sampled her 2019 song "Candy." "This song is a conversation with myself about avoidance, denial, being afraid of change, and being afraid of stagnating.
