NME’s latest stars of The Cover, Julie, have shared an exclusive playlist to accompany the story’s launch – check it out below.The California nu-gaze trio are on this week’s (September 23) edition of The Cover, a renewal of NME’s commitment to supporting emerging talent across the globe on a weekly basis.

When they released their debut single ‘Flutter’ in 2020, they had one simple aim. “You know how Spotify has that ‘less than’ sign for songs that have less than 1,000 listens?” guitarist and vocalist Keyan Pourzand asks NME rhetorically. “We all just said: ‘Please let us have more than that.’”Since then, the band have become one of the premier picks among a crop of young groups influenced by shoegaze, signing a major label deal with Atlantic Records and opening for heavy hitters like Alex G, Faye Webster and Foo Fighters.
