Josie Gibson has revealed a secret health battle on her return from the Australian jungle, as she was struck down with "severe tonsillitis and struggled to breathe.

"When I came out, I was on the flight home and I just started to feel really unwell – I was shivering," she explained. "Then when I got back I had severe tonsillitis.

I couldn't breathe, so I got taken to hospital." The 38 year old – who was the seventh celebrity to be voted out of the jungle – then thanked medics at the hospital for making her fit enough to return to This Morning earlier this week. "They put me on a drip and gave me loads of steroids to bring all the swelling down so I could breathe again.
