Deputy First Minister John Swinney has apologised to the family of a man who died alone on tenement stairs after waiting five hours for an ambulance that never arrived.
The SNP minister was quizzed by Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross about the cases of Richard Brown, 55, who passed away last Saturday evening in Glasgow ’s Hathaway Lane.
A pensioner, who did not wish to be named, said he called paramedic several times as he awaited the arrival of crews. But they arrived too late to save Richard’s life.
At First Minister's Questions Swinney, who was stepping in for Nicola Sturgeon, said he was "very sorry" to the family of Richard Brown.
