Nicola Sturgeon adviser hints at new covid restrictions after cases exceed 3,000 for fifth day

An adviser to Nicola Sturgeon on the covid pandemic has announced that Scots could be asked to wear masks all day at their workplace if they can't work from home.

Professor Linda Bauld, an expert in public health at the University of Edinburgh, said case numbers of the deadly virus have been too high across the country.

Earlier this week Deputy First Minister John Swinney hinted there could be an extension of the covid vaccine passport to some parts of the hospitality sector due to rising cases.
