A Scot died alone on the tenement stairs inside his building after waiting five hours for an ambulance which never arrived.The Scottish Ambulance Service has apologised to the family of Richard Brown, 55, and promised an investigation will be carried out after his lonely death.A neighbour described the trauma of finding Richard dead despite making repeated calls to the ambulance service for help after he found him on the stairs.The pensioner, who does not wish to be named, said he called the ambulance several times last Saturday evening as he awaited the arrival of paramedics.
