Jewish leaders issued a call for 'calm and harmony' as a charity revealed sickening examples of anti-Semitic hatred reported in Greater Manchester amid the continuing conflict and loss of life in the Middle East.

The Community Security Trust, which works with Jewish communities to provide safety and security and offer advice, said Swastikas have been daubed onto buildings in Manchester.

The charity also reported a grocery delivery driver shouted 'free Palestine' at the Jewish residents of a house in Manchester.

No exact locations or dates for the incidents have been revealed, but in an update to Monday since the Hamas terror attack on Israel of October 7, the CST said 35 incidents of antisemitism have been recorded in Greater Manchester. "For comparison, CST recorded 47 anti-Semitic incidents over the same ten days in 2022," said the CST in a statement. "This means that we have seen an increase of 581 per cent this year compared to the same period last year. "These are all instances of anti-Jewish racism, wherein offenders are targeting Jewish people, communities and institutions for their Jewishness.
