Viewers of the popular series Clarkson's Farm have reportedly sent an onslaught of threats to local councillor Dean Temple, prompting him to step down from his role. The 46 year old represented the Chadlington and Churchill ward which encompasses Diddly Squat Farm, and looked after the interests of the local community at West Oxfordshire District Council.

As many fans will know, the local authority, which currently has a Liberal Democrat majority, has been a recurrent talking point on Clarkson's Farm, with presenter Jeremy Clarkson regularly slamming some of the decisions made by the councillors.

According to Cllr Temple, what was billed as a "nice quiet place where nothing ever happens" quickly evolved once Clarkson began criticising the council on air.

In his own words, he says: "All of a sudden I was getting calls, death threats from all over the world." Now, in light of the intense fallout, Conservative Cllr Temple has opted to resign from his beloved constituency and run for election in nearby Witney in tomorrow's local poll instead.
