Jeremy Clarkson jibes at Holly Willoughby's replacement after 'difficult' This Morning exit

Jeremy Clarkson has hit out at the as-yet-unknown replacement for Holly Willoughby on This Morning.The former Top Gear star, 63, took the opportunity to slam the ITV daytime show as he wrote about how school doesn't prepare children for adult life.

Writing in his column for The Sun, Jeremy quipped: "Ever since the beginning of civilisation, we’ve had it in our heads that school is what’s needed to prepare kids for life.

But today, surely, we can see it does no such thing. And that it should be used to prepare older people for their retirement. "Because it’s much better to spend the autumn of our lives making walking sticks and learning Coldplay chords than sitting on an inconti-chair waiting to see who takes over from Holly Willoughby." Jeremy's comments come just weeks after Holly walked away from This Morning following a rather stressful year for the TV presenter, having bared witness to close pal Phillip Schofield's scandalous downfall and most recently becoming the target of a terrifying kidnapping plot.

Holly announced her exit from the morning show in a statement posted to Instagram, which read: "I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. "This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive.To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you."
