Officials in Tenerife have said that it is unlikely that full identification of a body found in the search for Jay Slater will happen until 'next week'.
Speaking for the first time since the body was discovered near the village of Masca yesterday morning (July 15), the court in charge of the ongoing investigation said that officially identifying the body and establishing the cause of death 'will take time'.
But officials confirmed that the documentation found with the body belonged to Jay and that 'everything is pointing to an accidental fall'.
The investigating judge at the court in the town of Icod de los Vinos, which covers the area of Masca, said: "In reference to the British citizen Jay Slater, the autopsy with the full identification of the body and the causes of death will take time.
