Ivan Toney has finalised a deal to join Saudi Pro League team Al-Ahli, concluding a year-long transfer saga which saw the striker regularly linked with Manchester United.
Brentford will pocket a £40million fee for the forward, who is set to ink a four-year contract with his new squad. The combined cost of the fee and his salary will total a £100m move.
Toney has been pushing for a transfer away from the Bees for a significant part of the past year. The England international had his heart set on a move to stay in the Premier League, waiting on approaches from United or Arsenal, reports the Mirror. Brentford manager Thomas Frank has excluded Toney from both of his matchday squads so far this season. Ahead of his team's defeat to Liverpool last Saturday, Frank conceded that Toney's future was uncertain.
