An Emmerdale star is set for a major TV comeback with a huge new role after being sacked from the ITV soap.The sensational return to the box comes four years after the soap actor was sacked from the soap as he was accused of assaulting and biting a pensioner in a pub before being found not guilty.

Actor Mark Jordon, who played Daz Spencer on Emmerdale for five years from 2014 to 2019, hasn't appeared on TV since he was sacked by ITV bosses in late 2019, writes The Mirror.Instead, Mark has focused on his stage career, having appeared in several theatre productions after seemingly leaving his soap career behind him.However, now Mark is set to make his comeback to the small screen, and will feature in a very popular programme.The former Emmerdale star is set to appear in new ITV thriller The Long Shadow.

The gripping ITV drama series tells the story of serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, who murdered 13 women and attempted to kill seven others throughout his killing spree which ended in 1981, when he was finally arrested.Mark is set to feature in the eight-part series as a character named Ray Wood and he will appear back on the small screen in an episode which is due to air this month.His new TV role comes over four years after Mark cleared his name following an assault charge.
