ITV confirms major format change for Britain's Got Talent with show set to return sooner than usual
manchestereveningnews.co.ukITV has announced a significant change to the format of Britain's Got Talent for its upcoming series. The broadcaster revealed that the show will now run for up to four months, starting earlier in February instead of April, and will be broadcast every Saturday night.
In a departure from the previous format, the five live semi-finals will no longer air nightly across one week, but will instead be shown weekly.
The familiar judging panel of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli will return, with additional audition locations added to this October's tour, beginning in Blackpool.
This is particularly good news for Bruno, who joined the BGT panel in 2022 after an 18-year stint on Strictly Come Dancing. Reports suggest that his move to ITV may have been sweetened by a substantial salary, with the TV judge reportedly earning a staggering £21,000 per week, reports the Mirror.
