Some fans think that Drake might be throwing shade at Rihanna on his new album For All The Dogs.
The LP arrived on Friday (October 6), and fans discovered what appear to be references to his time with the “Diamonds” diva in the song “Fear of Heights.” If you forgot, Drake and Rihanna have collaborated multiple times over the years and were romantically linked for a time in 2016.
That year, he professed his love to her for the world to see while onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards. They have since gone their separate ways, and in 2018 Rihanna said that they were no longer friends. Drake seemingly referenced her in an interview a year later.
Now, it looks like he might be looking back on their time together in his lyrics. One verse in particular features what might be a few shady digs at the pop icon. Head inside to listen to the song and see why fans think it’s about Rihanna… “Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you,” Drake asks at the start of the song. “That could never be me / Gyal can’t ruin me / Better him than me / Better it’s not me.” After being very vocal about his love for Rihanna, rumors about his feelings for her have been a regular topic of discussion amongst fans.
