Holly Willoughby shocked TV viewers when she dramatically quit her presenting role on ITV's This Morning after 14 years. The 42 year old star shared a surprise statement on Tuesday, 10 October, that said she was leaving the show and "will not be returning." It began: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together." But now fans believe she's in talks to join the BBC, suggesting that Phillip Schofield could join her.

Holly's This Morning co-host Phillip quit the show himself in May this year, after he admitted to a relationship with a younger male former colleague.

It also led to his departure from ITV. Reacting to the news of Holly's exit yesterday, one person tweeted: "Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield are probably already in talks with the BBC about fronting a new daytime TV show." Another said: Holly will rock up on the BBC for sure, guaranteed.

I am guessing apprentice or strictly," and a third added: "ITV asking Holly to go was probably her best career move yet. BBC money beckons." Others suggested the pair could end up on a different rival channel, with someone saying: "Holly and Phil show on GBnews," and another agreeing, "The way Holly and Phil are about to rebrand on GB News." Holly said her decision to quit was to spend more time “for me and my family” and the broadcaster’s managing director for media and entertainment Kevin Lygo has said she “remains a much-loved member of the ITV family” and that he hopes to work with her in the future.
