Inverness chairman Ross Morrison has broken silence on the furore over moving first-team training to Fife - and insists he would quit immediately if it helped the club.Supporters have reacted with fury, while local politicians and pundits across the country have expressed disbelief at the move to share Kelty Hearts’ Central Park ground for training.
Morrison though insists it was a decision necessary to keep the 30-year-old club full-time, saving an estimated £300k to £400k a year, while making it easier to attract quality players.
The ICT Supporters’ Trust was set to meet on Tuesday night to discuss tactics, including a possible season ticket and match boycott, in a bid to force the board to reverse the decision.Morrison insists there is no alternative way to tackle Caley Thistle’s huge losses, saying: “It has cost me well into seven figures, but I have done it for the benefit of the club.
I would step down if someone were to come up.” Asked about the fans’ reaction and claims the club was being severed from its community roots, Morrison said: “Moving the training ground is for two reasons.“First, that is financial as the club needed to cut its costs massively.
