Roy Hodgson has admitted he “can’t attack” the Carabao Cup against Manchester United due to an ever-growing injury list. The Eagles were without six first-team players for their 0-0 draw with London rivals Fulham over the weekend.
Talisman Michael Olise, who rejected a summer switch to Chelsea, is yet to make an appearance for Palace this season. Former England manager Hodgson rued his rotten injury luck after the game, insisting he may have to change tack ahead of their double-header at Old Trafford next week.
Odsonne Edouard, who has already bagged four Premier League goals this season, also hobbled off in the dying embers of the match. At the moment when I find out a player is out for three weeks, I’m relieved it’s not three months.” Hodgson also urged his team to be better on the ball against United, where they will play on Wednesday and next weekend in the Premier League.
