A spell of warm weather is forecast in Greater Manchester amid a 'mini heatwave' at the end of summer. Temperatures will reach a high of 21C today (Tuesday) in our region amid sunny spells with Met Office forecasters describing conditions as 'pleasantly warm'.

Similar conditions are then forecast for much of the week, with the mercury reaching highs of 20C on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Conditions are expected to be largely dry in Greater Manchester with sunny spells predicted ahead of the start of autumn on Sunday.

In some parts of the UK, temperatures are expected to rise to around 23C or 24C by tomorrow. He added: "Summer as a whole has been a bit on the coolish side for some, temperatures have not been great over the past few days, so this will be a welcome relief. "If you like the warmth and the sunshine then it will certainly feel a bit warmer compared to what we’ve had recently – it will make a change from the rather changeable (weather), certainly it’s been wetter at times in places, so certainly a bit of respite from the unsettled conditions going forwards." According to the Met Office long range forecast, 'typical autumn weather' is expected to set in from October 1 with 'periods of wet, unsettled weather that will likely be broken up by the odd short spell of more settled, drier weather'.
