Horror crash on Glasgow M8 as emergency services rush to scene

A horror crash on the M8 in Glasgow has sparked a huge emergency response.Cops have confirmed that the motorway is closed at Junction 13, eastbound, following the incident at around 1:10pm this afternoon, Wednesday, July 24.There is no information about any casualties at this stage but the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they are in attendance.Motorists are advised to avoid the area and local diversions are currently in place.Images from the scene show two vehicles at the side of the road, one considerably damaged.

At least three ambulances can be seen, with a police van and fire engine also visible. A huge number of officers from the emergency services are at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The M8 in Glasgow is closed eastbound at J13 following a crash that happened around 1.10pm.

Emergency services are in attendance."Local diversions are in place and road users are advised to avoid the area."A Traffic Scotland post read: “The M8 at Junction 13 is currently closed eastbound due to a road traffic accident. “Road users are advised to take an alternative for their journey."
