Hearts will receive another 3500 tickets for their Viaplay Cup semi final clash with Rangers after fans snapped up their initial 13,000 allocation in a matter of days. The Jambos will occupy the entire East Stand and part of the South Stand at the national stadium for the Guy Fawkes night showdown on Sunday, November 5.
And their numbers will swell further when unsold debenture seats are shared out. Despite pushing for an even 50/50 split of tickets Hearts were told last month they will only receive 18,000 - potentially rising to 20,000 - in the 52,000 stadium.Tynecastle boss Steven Naismith slammed the decision and said an even split should be the starting point for sales.
He said: “I just find it hard to understand why it wouldn’t be your starting point. Clubs grow, clubs get more backing, clubs get engaged with their fanbase to increase it.“Hearts have been a club that have shown that.
We could easily cover 50/50 in a big semi-final game like that. It is disappointing but we accept it and we’ll deal with it.”The November 5 clash kicks off at 3pm with the two sides fighting for the right to play Hibs or Celtic in the final on Sunday, December 17.
