Callous would-be thieves scrambled from police after trying to steal mobility scooters from those who need them. Greater Manchester Police says it was called out to Bankfield Road, in Stockport, in the early hours of this morning (October 17) following reports of a number of males attempting to steal mobility scooters.

Officers attended the scene, in Woodley, where they found the offenders. GMP says it 'disturbed' the group, who made off from the scene.

Police searched the area in an attempt to find them, but the group had disappeared. While searching the area, they discovered two mobility scooters which had been 'wired', GMP says.
