H&M has introduced a new fee that will see nearly all of its shoppers charged £1.99 to return items. The Swedish fast fashion retailer will now be charging its shoppers a £1.99 fee for each parcel returned both online and in store, with the cost being deducted from their refund.
The charges, which are said to have been in place since the summer, will only apply to shoppers who are non-members of H&M's loyalty scheme.
Those who are H&M members will not be charged the £1.99 fee when returning items. A note on the retailer's website mentions that non-members will not be charged the fee if an item is determined to be faulty or incorrect.
So, shoppers are urged to note that information when they are registering their returns. A spokesperson for H&M told the Daily Record: "On returns, we strive to help our customers to find the right size and fit from the outset, in order to reduce the returns rate. "As we have communicated before, we started charging a fee for online returns in multiple markets some time ago.
