George R.R. Martin Says a Previously Scrapped 'Game of Thrones' Prequel Idea for a TV Series Is Back in the Works!

George R.R. Martin has a Game of Thrones update. The author revealed that the prequel centered around Princess Nymeria, Ten Thousand Ships, is back in development after previously being scrapped.

The series is now being developed under a new writer Eboni Booth, who won a Pulitzer Prize in May for her play Primary Trust. Writer Brian Helgeland worked on the project previously, and told Inverse that “it was kind of like Ray Harryhausen’s Sinbad films mixed with The Odyssey … It came out great, but I think they felt the period of my show was too far removed from the pillars of the original.
