Gavin and Stacey fans get first glimpse of favourite character - and Nessa 'in tears'
ok.co.ukGavin and Stacey’s Nessa appeared to be 'in tears' as actress Ruth Jones and her fellow co-stars were spotted filming for the highly-anticipated Christmas special.The sighting comes just months after it was revealed that the popular BBC show will be making a return to our screens for the last ever episode.
Throughout the duration of the sitcom, which was on our screen from 2007 to 2020, Ruth’s iconic character Nessa had an on-off relationship with Smithy, played by James Corden.
Nessa and Smithy even welcomed their son Neil into the world while Nessa was in a relationship with Dave Coaches. In the 2019 Christmas special, things between Nessa and Smithy took another turn when Nessa admitted her true feelings for Smithy and even got down on one knee to pop the question.
However fans were left on the edge of their seats when the credits began rolling before Smithy’s response was aired. Five years on, speculation over the outcome of the proposal has heightened after Ruth as well as Gavin and Stacey stars Joanna Page, Julia Davis, Alison Steadman, and Melanie Walters were seen filming together.The group were rumoured to be filming Nessa’s hen do as they were spotted looking glam and arriving for a night out.
