Dubbed 'Awful April', this month is the start of the new financial year, which results in several services and goods jumping in price, from broadband and mobile bills, to TV licences, stamps and even flights.While millions will face higher bills and costs, it's good news for energy customers thanks to the Ofgem price cap dropping as of April 1.
From now until the next review in three months' time, people will pay £238 less per year on average for their gas and electricity bills if they pay via direct debit.Along with a new laws coming into force, for example the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act, there's plenty of change happening.
