The latest figures from Social Security Scotland show there are now 192,575 people receiving Adult Disability Payments (ADP), including some 109,385 existing claimants who have had their award for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) transferred from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to the devolved IT system.
The remaining 218,859 Scots still in receipt of PIP will have their payment moved to Social Security Scotland before the end of next year.
However, many new ADP claimants may not be aware a successful claim can also open the door to additional benefit top-ups, help with housing costs, Council Tax and travel - the extra support is also available for existing PIP claimants, those on Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Child Disability Payment.
