A former police officer has admitted sending images of an injured suspect to his wife. In February Cameron Hanson, a former police officer for Lancashire Constabulary, pleaded not guilty to an offence of misconduct in a public office namely between August 20 2021 and September 3 2021, acting as a police officer, sharing body-worn footage of injuries to a suspect.

The 33-year-old resigned from Lancashire Constabulary while under investigation. At a hearing at Manchester Crown Court today (March 22) Mr Hanson changed his plea to guilty meaning he has now admitted to all 16 counts on his indictment, including two counts of unauthorised access to a computer, five counts of misconduct in a public office and three counts of misconduct in a public place. The hearing is listed to last an hour and a half. The 33-year-old will be sentenced alongside his co-defendants, wife Kirstie Hanson also of Packington Brook, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington and another member of police staff Charlotte Riley, of Carholme Avenue, Burnley.
