A former McDonald's boss has revealed the reason why the milkshake and McFlurry machines always seem to be broken when you visit the restaurant.Mike Haracz, who worked as a corporate chef at McDonald's until 2019, has been sharing some top-secret information on his social media, reports the Mirror.In a new video, Mike explained why it seems like the popular milkshake and ice cream machine always seems to be broken.He said in the video: "I work at McDonald's.

They [the milkshake machine] is most probably not broken. We just don't want to add the mix if it's busy. If it's not [busy], then they're just hating."Before making up a milkshake or McFlurry, one worker has to head to the storeroom and collect the correct mix from the fridge, then add it to the machine and run it for a while until it is ready.This can be rather time-consuming, which can be a pain when customers are beginning to build up within the store and at the drive-thru.So, if the store is busy, that is when you're most likely to hear the words 'Sorry, the ice cream machine is broken'.However, this may not be the only reason why an employee could lie about the status of the machine - it could also be on a cleaning cycle.Mike added: "I'm a former McDonald's corporate chef and let's talk about the ice cream machine.

So a lot of times it's not broken. Either the person who knows how to assemble and disassemble it is not there. If they are there, it's probably during peak time. "So you know, 2am would probably be a great time to clean the ice cream machine but with a minimal kitchen staff at that time, they're probably really busy and really can't do it so they'll do it during more peak times."If it is not assembled appropriately, it is not going to work.
