The final bank holiday of 2023 has arrived - but fear not, we don't have long to wait until the next one. While technically next year, New Year's Day is less than a week away.
The new year approaching is the ideal time to plan ahead and make the most of your time off work. England and Wales get a total of eight bank holidays in 2024, while Scotland gets nine - an extra one thanks to St Andrew's Day in December.
Northern Ireland gets ten bank holidays a year; an extra one for St Patrick's Day in March and for Battle of the Boyne (Orangemen’s Day) in July.
And if you're smart about it, you could get 31 days off just by using 13 days of paid leave.
