Former Coronation Street star Rupert Hill has made a name in the pub world in recent years, bringing new life to old boozers, and now he has announced he is to do it again with a Chorlton institution.
For he has taken on the The Lloyds pub in Chorlton alongside long-time business partner Jonny Booth. It will see the return of the pair to Chorlton, many years after their joint venture, The Parlour, became one of their first big hospitality success stories.
They were also behind the successful reinvention of Northern Quarter elders The Castle Hotel and Gullivers amid a shared passion for breathing new life into historic pubs. READ MORE: Bake Off winner John Whaite bites back over price of his brownies Jonny and Rupert have now announced they are teaming up with JW Lees Brewery to transform the fortunes of the Chorlton Institution and bring it in line with their other two music venue sites.
They say they've been eyeing the site "for years" an are excited to unlock its potential. They are also planning to change its name from The Llolyds to its original name when it first opened back in 1870 on Wilmbraham Road - Lloyd & Platt.
