Five-year-old boy and girl, 9, rushed to hospital after horror crash in Glasgow

A five-year-old boy and a girl aged nine were rushed to hospital this evening after a road traffic incident in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.

At least 20 police officers were seen at the incident in Calder Street, Allison Street, and Cathcart Road in the south of the city Cops confirmed tonight that two young children had been taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.The streets were closed to traffic since around 6pm.

Earlier reports said the initial response included at least 20 police officers, eight police cars, six police motorcycles, three ambulances, an incident response unit, and at least one fire engine.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision on Calder Street, Glasgow around 5.50pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
