A father and son suffered serious facial injuries after they confronted a group of youths in a Hamilton street.The dad, then aged 40, was punched, kicked and stamped on and struck with a metal pole while his son ,19, was also punched and kicked.Gary Allan, 18, of Whistleberry Crescent, and a 17-year-old male - who is too young to be named - appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The dad had armed himself with an iron bar.They got out of the car, with the father carrying the iron bar, and approached a group of youths that included the accused.Ms Cunningham told the court: "A large scale
