Stirling artists set to hit Celtic Connections stage

Artists from Stirling will take to the stage at Europe’s largest winter music festival - Celtic Connections.The popular event takes place in Glasgow between Thursday January 19 – Sunday February 5.Esteemed fiddle player Alasdair Fraser and talented jazz pianist Fergus McCreadie will join more than 1,000 fellow musicians from across the world taking part in the 18-day showcase of events spanning traditional folk, roots, Americana, jazz, soul and world music.The UK’s premier roots music festival features hundreds of performances, landmark musical collaborations, talks, workshops, theatre productions, ceilidhs, exhibitions, free events and late-night sessions.Celtic Connections 2023 will be the 30th edition of the world-famous festival.The Stirling stars will be at the heart of the action, joining international sensations, rising stars and homegrown talent alike in entertaining loyal audiences.Widely celebrated as one of Scotland’s finest traditional fiddle players, Alasdair Fraser and long-term collaborator Natalie Haas will host a two-day Trad Music Workshop and Masterclass at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Saturday January 28 and Sunday January 29, as well as performing together along with Sarah-Jane Summers and Juhani Silvola at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall Strathclyde Suite on Sunday January 29.This year’s SAY award winner Fergus McCreadie’s blend of Jazz and Scottish folk music is inspired by Scotland’s stunning landscapes.His third studio album Forest Floor not only won this year’s SAY award but it also topped the UK Jazz and Blues charts, prompting sold-out performances across the UK and earning Fergus a Mercury Prize.He is the only non-classical musician to be selected as a 2022 BBC New Generation Artist.Fergu
