A family of four NHS women have added a newborn baby to their brood, completing five generations. The incredible story sees an 83 year old great grandmother heading the family tree, with her daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter and new great granddaughter all posing in one photo together.

The latest addition to the group of matriarchs means five generations are all alive at once. The baby girl, named Gracie Mae, was born six weeks ago as 23 year old Eleanor Arundel welcomed her first child into the world.The healthcare worker decided to keep the gender a surprise until she gave birth, and was over the moon to learn she was having another girl to add to the wonderful group of women she already had in her family.

It was a difficult start to Gracie Mae's life, as she ended up being born five weeks premature. The newborn spent 11 days in the NICU as doctors and nurses monitored the adorable tot, but thankfully she's back home with her family now. "My partner, Christian, 27, and I decided we didn't want to know the gender so kept it as a surprise until Gracie Mae was born," Eleanor told Daily Mail.
