Getting rid of weeds in your garden is hard enough, especially if they keep growing back, but it can be even harder to tackle if they're nestled in gravel surfaces. With gravel surfaces, weeds can grow fast as thanks to the soil, dust and debris that builds up in-between the gaps.

These provide them with the necessary nutrients they need to grow.In a bid to help banish them, Paul Nicolaides, who has over 30 years of recreational gardening and 20 years of professional landscaping experience, has shared his best methods of removing them.According to the expert, whilst the “most effective” way to remove weeds from gravel is using a trowel, this method is time-consuming.

Instead, Paul suggests using a common household ingredient - white vinegar, reports the Express. You won't be using it on its own but with two other items you'll also find in your kitchen. He said: “Although vinegar can kill weeds using the correct application it is more effective mixed with salt.

Mix your vinegar with a generous amount of salt and washing up liquid.”Rock salt is great at removing weeds from gravel. The expert explains: "[Salt] slowly dehydrates moisture from the weeds, roots and foliage, eventually killing them”.You should ensure you stir the solution well to fully dilute the salt and then add the homemade weed killer to a spray bottle and spray your weeds.
